PTCL Broadband, not proving to be a wise decision

I got PTCL broadband for home a 1MB link; I thought that it's a good choice at a reasonable cost, due to their student package. Not to mention the hassle of getting it installed at my place it took me a complete month, around 50 reminder calls to their call-centre, with follow-ups to the exchange directly, and the final warning of cancelling my order, it worked though :).

While I was in Pakistan and planning to leave for UK, it worked very fine for couple of weeks and I really loved the speed, but for last couple of weeks it has been a big mess for my family, they come online we start talking and then what happens DSL goes down, they come online again and what now DSL is down again. We hardly talk due to this online/offline thing.

Hats off to their customer service, we have been launching complaints again and again but nothing so far! I wish PTCL as a company can improve their customer service, since now they are not publically owned, if it continues to happen ppl will start looking for alternatives, which I already had!

i compeletely agree with you on that,it has very poor connectivity speed....n DSL lights keep on flickering da whole day long....simply hate da connection

Basit - unfortunately ptcl customer service is not good. If you are in an area where other choices are available (mobilink, wateen etc) then you should try them out or go wireless.

You can also try sending email to Support@ptcl.net.pk

I tried Wateen before using PTCL, but it didn't work at my home. Any suggestions in terms of home DSL 1MB link other then PTCL?

OK I’ll try sending them an email, but I’m really mad at their customer service, majority of them have no clue about the problem, and no follow-ups from their side.

brother, i suggest it is time to switch onto another ISP. i was a ptcl customer (1mb) and disappointed after months of frustration with the package details and then dealing with thier CS, i went to Wateen and got no better treatment. now settled with LDN student package (2 mb) which is better than anything else. the CS is curteous too.

Are you sure there's no distortion in phone line?

Try to make them change the whole telephone line (worked for me like anything) or change your telephone line to Optical fiber. Changing the line worked for me and Switching to optical fiber worked for a friend.... since then its been a smooth ride all along :)
